The Way Home Memorial was unveiled on Memorial Day, Monday, May 24, 2015 in Town Green Park, The Woodlands, TX. Hundreds of residents, including dozens of veterans, were on hand to witness the event.
The Honorable Kevin Brady, United States Congressman, District 8 was the keynote speaker and he said: "I predict this memorial will help inspire another generation of Americans to stand where duty requires them to stand.
And there are fewer greater honors than that, because America is only as strong as those willing to fight for the promise of freedom." You can read more about what our congressman had to say here Documents.
Other speakers included former Township Chairman Nelda Blair, Township Chairman Bruce Tough, Montgomery County Precinct 3 Commissioner James Noack, Sculptor Edd Hayes, and Greater Woodlands Public Art Foundation Directors Everett Ison and Bill Wingo. Presentation of Colors was provided by The Woodlands College Park High School Junior ROTC, with invocation by Victoria Glover and the national anthem sung by Lisa Riola.
